GA TA -4 transcription factor plays a critical role in the development of the heart. It belongs to the GATA family, which contains 2 conserved zinc finger DNA-binding domains. Deletion of GATA-4 may lead to embryonic death andmissense mutations of GA TA -4 at different sites are associated with different types of congenital heart defects. The present review focuses on the critical roles of GATA-4 on myocardial cell differentiation, embryonic development and cell apoptosisduring the heart development based on existing researches and articles, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the human diseases related to GA TA -4.%GATA-4是心脏发育过程中至关重要的转录因子,属于具有保守锌指结构的GA TA转录因子家族.GA TA-4基因缺失可致胚胎死亡,而不同位点的错义突变将引起不同类型的先天性心脏发育畸形.文章旨在通过对GA TA-4-4在心肌细胞分化、胚胎发育、细胞凋亡等方面所起的作用,对相关研究进展进行综述,探讨GA TA-4在心脏发育中的作用,从而为防治人类相关疾病提供理论依据.
