Short but meaningful as all mini-novels are,The Last Rose of the Summer Days touches the depth of the revived humanity by creating advantages in terms of suspension,structure,and metaphor. By reading the text of the mini-novel closely,the present author tries to reveal the complicated techniques in narrative structure and metaphor connotation from three dimensions ! suspension creation,story struc-ture and metaphor of theme ! so as to understand the hidden melancholy of both our time and humanity beneath the beauty of humanity depicted.%微型小说言简义丰，运用短小的篇章浓缩复杂深厚的情感蕴藉，《夏日里的最后一朵玫瑰》凸显了微型小说在悬念设置、结构架设、主旨隐喻方面的优势，用精简凝练的笔触刺痛人性复归的深层问题。笔者着重采用文本细读的批评方法，从情节的悬念设置、故事的结构架设、主旨的深层隐喻三个维度，揭示微型小说的叙事结构和隐喻内涵层面的复杂技艺性，读解小说在传达美好人性思考的背后，对时代和人性的潜在的感伤书写。
