The Annual Meeting of The American Society for Information Science and Technology ( ASIST) is thehighest level comprehensive conference in information science in the world wide. This year there are 59 full papers presented in the Annual Meeting held in October 2011 in New Orleans, Louisiana in the USA. This paper reviews these papers, focusing on their research questions, methods, and findings. In this way, the paper presents current research in information science, new areas emerged, and its future. It also discusses the scope of information science framed by three dimensions, including people, information, and information technology. Finally, the paper summarizes the characteristics of information science research in the USA and the implications to the development of information science in China.%美国信息科学与技术学会(The American Society for Information Science and Technology,ASIST)年会是国际上信息科学(information science,国内称为"情报学")领域有重要影响的综合性学术年会.在美国路易斯安娜州新奥尔良市举行的ASIST2011年年会上,学者们共报告了59篇研究论文(full paper).本文通过综述这些论文的主要研究内容、方法和结果,展示美国主导的情报科学研究的现状、新兴领域和发展趋势,并讨论其三维框架(即人-信息-信息技术所构筑的框架)的学科定位.文章进一步总结该学科研究的特点及为国内情报学研究带来的启示.
