In self-cultivation, the masters of Quanzhen Taoism have the pursuit of getting harmony between being excellent in ability and moral conduct as well as being strict with themselves. They pay attention to the improvement of wisdom learning and self-examination. In virtue accumulation, they offer blessings and wish merit for every living being, showing benevolent feelings of caring about the whole society. In moral comprehension, they attach great importance to loyalty and piety ethics. They think loyalty and piety ethics are the principles for self-cultivation, which reflects that Quanzhen Taoism has deeply approval and absorption of ethic codes in Confucianism.
