清代英国人在华的植物采集与广州外销植物画

摘要

清代外销植物画是在华的欧洲博物学家和中国画师合作的产物,它们显示了中国和欧洲、科学和艺术的两种不同视觉文化的互动关系.需要重点考察博物学家、植物收集、画师、外销植物画等几个方面的交集,揭示其中东西文化接触的细节,包括东西方植物交换,行商、外国名流和博物学家的交往,中西写实观念的差异等,并借此讨论视觉表现在中西交流中的作用.%Paintings of plants sold in China in the Qing Dynasty are a product of collaboration between European naturalists and Chinese painters which show an interactive relationship in cultural perspectives between China and Europe and between science and art.This paper focuses on the intersection between naturalists, plant collection, painters and the selling of paintings of plants to reveal details of cultural exchange between East and West, including the exchange of eastern and western plants, communication between businessmen, foreign dignitaries and naturalists and differences in realism between China and the West, and discuss the role visual expression plays in Chinese-West exchange.
