The characteristics of ultrasonic plastic welding of PC materials with energy rib are studied in this paper. Energy rib can reduce electric energy density of high frequency for welding. And under the condition of the same high frequency electric power, welding area by using energy rib is several times by plane welding- After melted, the increasing height of unit area (H) on welding surface, resulted from using rib, affects welding strength (F) considerably.According to experiment results, the method to calculate the high frequency electric energy density and electric power was improved, and the correcting factor k1, that ensures theoretical calculating results conform to practice, was introduced. This conclusion will give impetus to the more extensive applications of ultrasonic plastic welding technology.
