Objective To investigate the correlation between age and Hepatitis G Virus(HGV) infection after blood transfusion in patients undergoing cardiovascular operation. Methods A prospective study was performed on 166 patients undergoing cardiovascular operation. Hepatitis G Virus RNA (HGV RNA) was tested preoperatively and 1,2,3 month postoperatively. The patients were divided into older group ( ≥36 years of age) and younger group(<36 years of age). Results The overall postoperative morbidity of HGV infection was 4.2%. There was a higher positive expression for HGV in the older group than the younger group. Significant differences were found in the weight, the volume of blood transfusion and the causes of diseases between the two groups. Conclusion The overall postoperative morbidity of HGV infection was 4.2 %. The elder patients were more susceptible to HGV than young patients. The result indicates that cardiovascular operation should be done early.%目的探讨心血管手术输血后庚型肝炎病毒(HGV)感染与年龄的关系。
