The soil property,grass production,carrying capacity and enterprises in 16 forage producing counties in Gansu Province were investigated and monitored.Results show that the alfalfa production was mainly distributed in Hexi,middle and east parts of Gansu.The yield and quality of alfalfa in Hexi were slightly higher than other areas.Some locally characterized forages with high utilization value were grown in the middle and east parts of Gansu.In alpine area,the staple forages were oat,Secale cereal cv.Ganyin No1 and Elymus.The unbalance between livestock and forage was the main constraint for the development of animal husbandry.The number of enterprises and processing capacity were increasing,and the main products were grass bale,grass block,grass particles and silage.%对甘肃省16个牧草种植区土壤、牧草种植状况、载畜量和草企业等开展固定监测,为甘肃省牧草种植结构优化、生产合理布局提供依据.结果显示:甘肃省苜蓿商品草主要分布在河西和中东部地区,其中,河西地区苜蓿产量和品质略高于中东部地区;中东部地区还种植其他地方特色牧草,均具有较高的利用价值;高寒地区主要种植燕麦、甘引1号黑麦和披碱草,草畜不平衡成为制约当地畜牧业发展的主要因素;牧草加工企业主要以生产草捆、草块、草颗粒、青贮饲料为主,数量和加工能力逐年增加.
