Each year many thousands of Japanese highschool students come to Canada for short visits.They usually stay for a week or two,learn some English,learn about a western culture,live with a Canadian family and go home with a new appreciation of how big and wonderful the world is.The Japanese government thinks this kind of travel is so important it encourages students to go abroad in their grade eleven year and even provides a small amount of financial support.
