Firstly, it looks into the impacts such aspects as time, location and orientation have on AP signal through experiments, showing the importance of AP selection. Secondly, based on the research both at home and abroad, this paper categorizes and compares the AP selection algorithms in Wi-Fi-based indoor location and discusses their strengths and weaknesses. The analysis shows that research on indoor location algo-rithms place a great emphasis on the balance between location accuracy and energy consumption. Lastly the paper arrives at con-clusions.
