Striving to Enlarge the Sky Coverage of the FAST

摘要

The FAST project, a novel giant spherical radio telescope with active main reflector, has been put forth. Meanwhile some efforts have been tried to overcome one of the most serious shortcomings of the spherical radio telescope, seriously limited sky coverage. Three measures under investigation are introduced in this paper, followed by describing essential performance expected and brief comparison with current largest radio telescope.
