In 2018,a floating nuclear plant,called Akademik Lomonosov and developed by Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom,was towed out of Saint Petersburg,Russia,where it was built. It will eventually be brought northward,to Murmansk-where its two KLT-40C naval propulsion reactors with a 35 MWe capacity each will be loaded with nuclear fuel and started up. It’s the first nuclear power plant of its kind,Russian officials said.
