In the middle of 2002.a group of moun-taineers1 made an expedition2 to the region3around Mount Everest4 in Nepal5.This expedi-tion was supposed by the United Nations Envi-ronment Programme6 to observe7 climatic8changes.The team reached the 6189-m high Is-land Peak.only 8 km south of Mount Everest.
