The production philosophy, process flow and the DCS core control system of the 300 000 t/a coal-tomethanol plant was introduced. 3 entrained flow coal-water slurry continuous pressure gasifiers were adopted in the plant which features high temperature, high pressure, and exposed to inflammation and explosion. Therefore, it sets a high demand on the automatic control system of the plant. This is the first time that the home-made HOLLiAS MACS core control system was applied in the large coal water slurry gasifiers.
