侧边界融化对北极海冰影响的数值模拟

     

摘要

In this paper we describe the lateral sea ice melting parameterization scheme of Community Sea Ice Model version 5 (CSIM5 ). We then use the CSIM5 to simulate the effect of the lateral sea ice melting parameterization scheme on the thickness and area of sea ice. The results show that lateral melting thermal processes will decrease sea ice thickness and sea ice area. Significant decreases in thickness would occur in the Siberian Sea and the Greenland Sea, with significant decreases in the sea ice area distributed around the ice edge. Lateral melting will impact on sea ice thickness more in summer than in winter, and the impact on sea ice area will be more significant in winter than in summer. The lateral melting scheme can effectively simulate seasonal changes in the sea ice area. Sea Surface Temperature (SST) is a very important impact factor in the lateral melting process and large values of the lateral boundary melting rate are distributed near the line where SST is zero degrees.%对NCAR CSIM5海冰模式中海冰侧边界融化参数化方案进行了详细阐述,并利用CSIM5模式模拟了侧边界融化对北极海冰厚度和海冰面积变化的影响,试验结果表明:(1)侧边界融化热力过程会加快海冰的消融,使得海冰厚度和面积相应减少,其中海冰厚度减小最明显的区域分布在西伯利亚海和格陵兰海,海冰面积减小最明显区域分布在海冰边缘地区;(2)侧边界融化过程对夏季海冰厚度影响比冬季更为明显,而对冬季海冰面积的影响要比夏季更为明显;(3)侧边界融化方案能更好地模拟出海冰面积的季节性变化;(4)海水表面温度(SST)是影响海冰侧边界融化过程的重要因子,侧边界融化率的大值区分布在SST零度线附近的狭窄区域.
