A report on the use of caudal anesthesia in 55 children having undergone upper abdominal and abdominoperineal surgery is presented: No failure of anesthesia was experienced and no accident or complication was seen. The key of success lies in:rn(1) Caudal anesthesia is preferable mostly for infants and small children undergoing upper abdominal and abdominoperineal surgery, while epidural anesthesia is more reliable for bigger children. Continuous caudal anesthesis is valuable for bigger children undergoing abdominoperineal surgery blow the level of the 6th thoracic spinal nerves.rn(2) Based on the data of the 55 cases, a calculative formula for the initial dosage in volume was obtained. The solution of local anesthetics is preferably so prepared as a bigger volume and a lower concentration.rn(3) Sedatives should be used carefully to achieve a light sleeping. Supplemental sedatives will be minimal in a successful caudal anesthesia.%本文总结了小儿骶麻用于上腹部及腹会阴区手术的临床资料,提出高位骶管阻带麻醉适宜于婴幼儿横膈以下的各类手术,年长儿可用于床醉平面要求在胸6以下的腹会阴区手术,对危重病儿不需特殊呼吸管理者也适用.文中还根据多年来的骶麻经验,求出了按体重计算骶麻甩药初量的回归方程式,由此方程式求出的药量具有低浓度大容积的特点,值得推广本例小儿骶麻的辅助用药以小剂量的镇静药,保持病人浅睡为度,硫喷妥钠效果较佳.
