The authors report the treatment and the long-term follow-up results of 13 cases collected from 1965 to 1985 of familial polyposis coli in childhood.7 were male and 6 female aged between 7 and 12 years.8 cases had a family history of familial polyposis coli.7 cases were treated by subtotal colectomy and 6 by total colectomy.Follow.ups were carried out in 11 cases for 5-25 years.The postoperative complication and anal function were compared between two groups of patients who nnderwent subtotal colectomy(n=6)and total colectomy (n=5).No patient developed rectal cancer in both groups.In the total colectomy group,infection occurred in 3,and the recovery of howel function was excellent in 2,good in 1,fair in 1 and poor in 1.In the subtotal colectomy group,the bowel function as excellent in 3,good in 3,but 4 cases had the adenomatous polyps recurred.The total colectomy,the prevention of infection and a regular interval follow-up are stressed.%作者介绍13例家族性直肠结肠多发性息肉病的治疗与远期随访结果.对不同术式的术后并发症和远期疗效进行了对比和评价,强调全大肠切除、并发症防治和定期随访.
