AIM: To analyze the effect of tooth-brushin frequency and of tooth-brushing time on periodon-rntal attachment level in patients with type 2 diabetes. METHODS: Three thousand nine hundred and seventy-two subjects diagnosed as Lype 2 diabetes were included in this study. All subjets filled a questionnaire inquiring the daily frequency of tooth-brushing and the time of tooth-brushing every time. The level of periodontal attachment was examined. RESULTS: In all age groups except the one over 75 years of age, patients who brushed teeth at least twice daily showed less periodontal attachment loss than those who brushed once daily or less. Moreover, patients who brushed teeth over two minutes each time also showed less periodontal attachment loss than those who brushed teeth less than two minutes. CONCLUSION: Brushing teeth at least twice daily over two minutes each time can slow down periodbn-tal attachment loss in patients with type 2 diabetes.%目的:分析不同刷牙次数和刷牙时间对Ⅱ型糖尿病患者牙周附着水平的影响.方法:选择Ⅱ型糖尿病患者3 972名为研究对象,对每天刷牙次数和每次刷牙时间进行问卷调查,并分析对牙周附着水平的影响.结果:除≥75岁组外,其余各年龄段每天刷牙≥2次者与<2次者相比,牙周附着丧失程度较轻,每天刷牙≥2次、每次≥2 min者与每天刷牙≥2次、每次<2 min者相比,牙周附着丧失程度较轻.结论:每天刷牙≥2次、每次≥2 min有助于减缓Ⅱ型糖尿病患者的牙周附着丧失程度.
