Rare earth market analysis in September 2017

Rare earth market changes the upward trend recently and began to shock. Price of didymium oxide has fallen from the previous high of 510,000 yuan/ton to 460,000 yuan/ton on Sep. 28. Besides the rational revise of the former price surging, the other reason for the price drop is the slack demand from downstream industries. However, the rare earth groups began cease production to guarantee the market price recently. This is definitely good news for it can ease the oversupply recently. But, whether rare earth price can be backed is finally decided by the demand from downstream industries.
