Objective To investigate the current situation and development trend of narcotics use for inpatients in our hospital to provide the reference for scientific management and rational use of these drugs. Methods The statistical analysis on the application of narcotics in our hospital from 2008 to 2010 was conducted for comparison in the aspects of drug consumption sum, DDDs and defined daily cost, etc. Results The consumption of narcotics in our hospital was increased year by year, but the percentage accounting for total amount of money was declined. Leading the list in terms of consumption sum was Fentanyl Citrate Injection(0. 1 mg), which had the highest increasing trend. Conclusion The utilization of narcotics in our hospital is basically rational.
