Since the COVID-19 outbreak,the internetbased digital economy has emerged as a strong force counteracting the impact of the pandemic on the economy.While the digital industry seized the opportunity,the traditional economy has also responded to pressure to become digitized and intelligent.According to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology,China’s digital economy is expected to grow to 60 trillion yuan(US$8.5 trillion)by 2025.A principal trading partner of China,ASEAN has great potential for the development of e-commerce,considering it has the world’s third largest group of internet users,rich demographic dividends,and a fastgrowing middle class.
