Linux是个完全免费、源代码公开、开放性好、功能强大、运行稳定、实时性好的类UNIX操作系统，它拥有丰富的软、硬件支持。基于Linux和自由软件开发的调度自动化系统不仅费用低、安全性好、性能高、稳定可靠、硬件选择范围广，还具有非常高的可移植性，系统几乎不需要修改就可以运行于大多数UNIX操作系统。以Linux为代表的自由软件在调度自动化系统中有着广阔的应用前景。文中介绍了自由软件和Linux在调度自动化系统中应用的优势、特点，预测了其应用前景。%Linux is a kind of operation system similar to UNIX, which is fully free of charge, source code opened, powerful in function, stable and qualified for real-time system operation.
