A hibernating male tube-nosed bat was collected in March,2016 from Yanzi Cave in the Bamianshan Mountain (28°51'56″N,109°16'15″E,1213 m asl),Longshan County,Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Nationalities Autonomous Perfecture,Hunan Province. This sample was identified as Murina fanjingshanensis based on both morphology and Cyt b gene sequence. The finding not only adds a new record of Chiroptera for Hunan Province,China,but also is the first report of the species outside its type locality in Fanjingshan Natural National Reserve,Guizhou,China.
