When trying to launch a new wireless communication service, lack of frequency is the major difficulty. However, recent measurements have shown that most of spectrum bands are underutilized. One of the promising ways to manage this underutilized spectrum is Cognitive Radio approach. While primary users are idle, secondary users can use the spectrum. Node mobility needs to be considered for secondary nodes to ensure the delivery of the message from a source to its destination. In this thesis a C based simulator for a cognitive radio network under an ad-hoc architecture is developed. We considered secondary nodes as ICMNs (Intermittently Connected Mobile Networks) and implemented a protocol called " Binary Spray and Wait " to find the time it takes for a message to get to its destination from a source. We also investigate the impact of the network parameters on the performance of the routing protocols using this simulator. The simulator developed here is a strong tool to investigate the performance of various routing protocols in cognitive radio network.
