The problem of this study was to investigate the communication system of a postsecondary technical college in the State of Ohio to determine if differences existed between the ideal and the actual perceptions of communication flow; to determine if correlations existed between communication flow and communication outcomes and between employee relationships and communication outcomes; and to determine if relationships existed between communication flow, employee relationships, or communication outcomes and differences due to employee demographics. To research this problem, a communication audit was conducted.;Three instruments including interviews, questionnaire survey, and communication experience survey were utilized to collect data. Three research questions were tested. The statistical tools used to analyze data were the Student's t-test for dependent samples, the Pearsons Product-Moment Correlation, and Chi Square. The .05 significance level was used.;Findings, conclusions, and recommendations were made based on the analysis of data. Major conclusions drawn indicated that timeliness of information is important to communications and that utilization of personnel input is essential.;One technical college was selected as the site to conduct the communication audit. The total population for this study was 82 full time personnel, which was composed of strata identified as professional and support staff, faculty members, and administrators.
