摘要

This thesis describes the development of a sensor for measuring Frictional and Normal Stresses in the roll gap. The design and construction of an experimental rolling mill is also described.;The measurements obtained with the sensor show good results for the Normal Stresses which are verified with Roll Separating Force measurements. Due to inadequacies in the sensor design the Friction Stresses measured are meaningless.;An in-depth analysis is made of the sensor design providing a basis for a much improved sensor.
