Ideological excavations: Uncovering essential dichotomies for a poetic sense of building through retrospective and introspective 'archaeology'.

Ideological excavations asserts that the structures built by architects are entries in a universal anthology called Architecture. Each entry in that anthology falls into one of three categories: Poetry, Prose and Vacuous Text. Attention is given to clarifying the layers of this stratification but the primary focus is upon identifying what is and makes Poetry--"great" Architecture.;The premise is that Poetry consistently requires the architect to utilize and link two things, Integrity and Intuition, which are examined through "metaphoric" excavations especially respectful of history. The allusion to the role of an ideological archaeologist is employed to clarify "excavation.".;Ideological excavations is founded upon the notion that a dichotomy exists in Poetry and poetic building. Poetry in this context is defined as the dialogue and resolve made by the architect between the two factions--Integrity and Intuition. This dialogue is demonstrated to exist in all facets of Poetry.
