Effects of various insulation material on performance of high voltage systems.

摘要

In this thesis, some various types of solid insulating materials utilized in high-voltage systems are studied. The effects of material type on the flashover performance of polluted insulators are investigated. Mechanical and electrical characteristics of different insulating materials that are used for high voltage systems are presented. Using a laboratory set-up, the surface contamination levels of artificially contaminated insulators are determined. A comparison among different insulating materials performance is evaluated. An analytical study on the voltage distribution of insulator strings is also presented.
