"Interpersonal Relationships in Robert Frost's North of Boston" is an examination of the relationships and communications between characters in Frost's dramatic poems from the 1914 volume. The themes of isolation and alienation are studied in three representative poems: "The Death of the Hired Man," "Home Burial," and "Mending Wall.".;Past studies of Frost's work formed the research base for this essay, along with the original poems. Authors consulted for their analyses of the representative poems, for comments on North of Boston, or for biographical notes on the poet included Cook, Cox, Gerber, Harris, Lathem, Lowell, Lynen, Lyons, Marcus, Montgomery, Nitchie, O'Donnell, Potter, and Thompson.
