As a tool for process analysis, a procedure was developed to model and relate team in-process performance to the end-product while taking into account the human interactions of a team, and the variability of subject-matter-expert judgment. This was accomplished by combining a modified Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with either a Multi-Variant Linear Regression (MVLR) or an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Using the data obtained from a decision support system experiment with the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Officer Advanced Course students, a case study was used to develop a procedure for using the identified methods. Although the findings yielded little statistical difference in modeling performance of MVLR and ANN, the utility of such models was successfully used as a tool by helping to distinguish the characteristics and methods exhibited by the high performance versus the low performance teams.
