This research is due to the growing interest about entrepreneurship, shown not only in the numerous studies carried out, but also in the multiple educational actions started in this area, and in the importance Governments and Public Administrations give to it promoting programs to support small enterprises and new ventures start ups.; This importance is based on Entrepreneurship's role in economic development. New ventures are the source of wealth creation while they generate employment, they innovate, they enable access to wealth, and they increase the competition, avoiding too concentrated market structures.; From the Public Administration environmental variables can be used to promote new ventures, but these are more helping actions rather than entrepreneurial vocation unchaining factors. The entrepreneurial attitude comes up because of different reasons, and the first one is the education transmitted in family and schools.; This study concentrates on the entrepreneur, and starting from an historical review, we clarify the meaning, the characteristics and the motives of this actor. We study the behavioural schemes, and the factors that influence the final decision of starting a new venture, stressing education as a possible tool to change attitudes.; The Autonomous Community of the Basque Country has traditionally been entrepreneurs' home. So we have located our study in this zone trying to see whether university students have entrepreneurial attitudes. We have identified five factors of the entrepreneurial attitude of the university students in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, and the difference between their profile and that of real entrepreneurs. We have also tested that this attitude is different depending on the type of studies they take, and that it changes after one academic year at the university.; The study includes examples of different entrepreneurship courses' programs, and emphasises the importance of including in academic curricula education on values and competencies, as well as pedagogic tools and methodologies to encourage entrepreneurial attitudes.
