摘要

The Java based hybrid interconnection network simulator (JABHINS) is a software tool that allows the trace driven simulation of clustered k-ary n-cube networks. JABHINS input parameters are the network dimensionality and nodes per dimension, the availability for torus interconnections, the buffer size, the number of virtual channels, the aspect ratio and the number of channels connecting the intranetwork with the internetwork. Messages are routed in virtual-cut through technology using dimension order algorithm. Simulation results are provided in terms of average flit level latency and message level throughput. The capabilities of JABHINS are illustrated through the performance comparison of various clustered k-ary n-cube networks for a particular set of interconnection technology parameters under surface pinout constraints for networks built within wire-based and optoelectronic multichip modules (MCMs). Through this study, it is shown that MCM technology has the potential of decreasing network latency and power requirements as compared to single-chip VLSI implementations.
