Science notebooks are supportive methods of assisting science students and scientists alike in pursuing their quest for knowledge. This study was implemented to examine the impact of the interactive science notebook model on eighth grade science student problem solving and critical thinking skills. Would science students be able to draw more connections? Would students find the science content to be more meaningful to them? The interactive science notebook model was introduced to the students as a tool to use within their science classes. Four students were observed understudy and the results of the study suggest that the interactive science notebook model does positively impact students' organization skills, completion of assignments, and to some degree their critical thinking and problem solving skills.
