Web-enabling and extending existing software.

摘要

This thesis explores the process of Web-enabling and extending existing programs. The goal of this work is to develop a generic process that can serve as a template for this process. Two major technologies that aid in Web-enabling are JavaServer Pages (JSPs) and the Extensible Markup Language (XML). These technologies are discussed in detail. The entire Web-enabling process is described through a sample application. An existing program that computes source code metrics and that can be used to perform a quality analysis of student programs is Web-enabled. This program is RSM, or Resource Standard Metrics, from M Squared Technologies.
