My research used an interdisciplinary approach to discover measurable components to the adoption and innovation of technology in collaborative, highly integrated adaptive systems in business-to-business (b2b) electronic commerce mega-markets, which I often refer to as a "Digital Ecosystems". Project Demonstrating Excellence (PDE) has led to the discovery of nine critical elements to measuring "meta-relationships" in digital markets. This researcher defines "meta-relationships" as the informal relationships of knowledge workers who have developed self-forming workgroups that exist beyond (meta) the formal delineations of organizational structures. My work examined human-computer interactively and computer mediated relationships in an electronic commerce business-to-business (b2b) environment.; My Project Demonstrating Excellence (PDE) identified nine Critical Success Factors that govern the optimization process of adapting internet b2b electronic commerce industry. Key Success Factors: (1) Customer satisfaction and retention; (2) Transformation to self-delivery service; (3) Availability of timely information; (4) Improved availability of self-service support; (5) Attracting and retaining quality employees; (6) Active commitment to portal use; (7) Maximizing the effectiveness of processes; (8) Shared knowledge base resources; (9) "Flow".; Definitions and measurements of these Key Success Factors are explained in detail in my Project Demonstrating Excellence. Because of the complex nature of dissecting and identifying the meta-relationships that converge in Electronic Commerce mega-markets, this researcher relied on a diverse set in interdisciplinary resources and previous research to catalog a subset of critical influences governing the adoption of technology and innovation in the commercial b2b environment.
