从图式理论的角度看《傲慢与偏见》两个中译本幽默语言的翻译

摘要

图式(schema)是认知心理学的术语，最早由康德提出。许多语言学家和国外的教育家已经将图式理论广泛的运用到阅读研究中去，而对图式理论在翻译中的运用却少有研究。奥斯丁的《傲慢与偏见》历来就以其优美的语言形式，鲜活的人物形象闻名于世。尤其是作者幽默的语言风格把事件和人物刻画的惟妙惟肖，略带尖刻的评价和巧妙的对白更是独具匠心。本文在认知语言学的基础上，将图式理论对人的认知行为和心理的一些基础性解释引入到翻译研究中来，选取《傲慢与偏见》的两个中译本作为比较分析的对象，尝试探讨小说的幽默语言翻译问题。 本文运用图式理论来研究翻译问题。在翻译过程中，译者采用认知心理学中几种常用的运用图式表达的方法：1．运用原型匹配；2．运用模版匹配；3．运用“自上而下”搜索法；4．运用“自下而上”搜索法，来翻译原文作者的幽默语言。所有例句都从《傲慢与偏见》的两个中译本中收集。 研究结果表明：1)在图式理论的框架内，幽默语言翻译也是一种交际活动，涉及三个文本(原文文本，译者的图式文本和译本)，三个交际者(原文作者，译者和译文读者)，译者的任务是采用适当的翻译策略把最佳译文转达给译文读者；2)译者在翻译过程中下意识的运用了自己的图式知识，派生出与原文相匹配的有效表达；3)译者在翻译过程中运用自身的图式知识传达原文作者的意图，激活目的语读者的图式知识，使得译文读者感受到和原文读者相同的幽默效果。 本文在理论和实践方面具有一定意义，从理论上说，本文系统地使用图式理论比较分析了两个译本，测试了图式理论在幽默语言翻译中的指导作用。从实践上看，通过分析几种常用的运用图式表达的方法，对译者如何实现有效的幽默语言翻译提出了若干建议。
