媒体对公共安全新闻的报道对公民安全感认知影响的研究

摘要

The substantial increase of crime and delinquency in Latin America is undeniable.In 2001,the Inter-American Development Bank reported that 140,000 people were killed in the region,55 families are victims of robbery per minute; 28 million each year.(Crimen e Inseguridad,Indicadores para las Américas,FLACSO 2010,Chile) In spite of that,there are countries where is easy to detect a big disproportion around the rates of victimization registered by the surveys and the perception of insecurity that the citizens have declared.
　　A tangible example of this disproportion is Chile.Considered as the safest country in Latin America (United Nations Program for Development,UNDP,2013),but at the same time has one of the largest gaps between victimization and perception of insecurity.That is the reason why in this research paper and qualitative analysis is demonstrated the enormous influence of the media on the perception of insecurity felt by citizens.
　　This research exposes the informative treatment caused by the mass media,focused mainly on television,for been the medium of easiest access and greatest consumption in the population with respect to information about public safety.Also causes,motives and possible solutions to this dilemma are presented by the mass media in Chile.
