Treatments for Frozen Shoulder

摘要

Acupuncture is a precious Chinese culture heritage which derivedfrom thousand years ago.Its unique in curing chronic pain madeacupuncture nowadays are worldwide famous.Frozen shoulder as thethird main causes in chronic pain diseases, is characterised by chronic painand limited range of movement which made patients to suffer in doing theirdaily life activity.From western ideas, management for frozen shoulderincluding surgery manipulation to release adhesions beside ofcorticosteroid injection. These treatments are high cost and invasive topatients condition, not mentioned the side erect and risks whichsometimes caused a great loss to patients. Objective: To practice acupuncture skills and massage combinedwith other noninvasive treatments as compherensive management intreating Frozen Shoulder disease. Methods: This paper contained of two case reports of patientsdiagnosed as frozen shoulder according to history, physical examinationand radiologic findings. The first patient was treated withelectroacupuncture，the second patient was treated withelectroacupuncture and moxibustion acupuncture.They received acomprehensive treatments together with Chinese Massage(tuina),physical exercises and health education. Conclusion: Electroacupuncture itself is useful to treat frozenshoulder disease. It can also combined together with moxibustionacupuncturetreatments.to achieve maximaleutic effect of acupunctureas acompherensive treatment together withtuina ,physical exercises and health education, is a breakthrough inmedical world which giving patients an alternative way to experience acomplete,acceptable treatment which is lowcost and no side effect.
