Ergonomic appreciation of an in-patient hospital accommodation

The paper presents the first stage of an ergonomic intervention - the appreciation. It concludes with the ergonomics expert's report, identifying the problems, constraints, human costs and system's disfunctions. After we can formulate predictions which will indicate the emphasis and instruments of the ergonomic diagnosis. The target system used as an example was an in-patient accommodation in the University Santa Maria Hospital, Brazil.
