1 IntroductionAs one of the world's largest magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide deposits, the Jinchuan is well known by the world. Since the deposit was found in 1958, a lot of researches focused on the further exploration in surround areas have been undertaken (e.g., Tang and Li, 1995; Tang et al., 2006; Li, 2006). On the basis of previous studies, three criteria are emphasized during the exploration: 1. ultramafic intrusions; 2. the old metamorphosed Baijiazuizi Formation; and 3. clear magnetic anomalies. Commissioned by the Jinchuan Group Ltd, a detail geological mapping (1:10,000) was carried out in the southern part of the Jinchuan area, where is near the Jinchuan mineralized intrusion, last year. The methods of remote sensing, geochemical exploration, and magnetic survey are also applied. Some new understandings are obtained from the work. Here, we present the results of the study.
