Monte-Carlo simulation of optical trapping

摘要

The role of local velocity gradient enhancements on the escape probability is discussed in the light of a Monte-Carlo simulation of optical trapping within a 2-level system. It is shown that the presence of non-uniformities in the velocity profile lead to a reduction in trapping. Realistic velocity profiles are obtained from hydrodynamic simulations.
