A Study on the Macroeconomic Effects of IMF-Supported Stabilization Program in South Korean Financial Crisis

IMF plays an important role in international financial affairs. Based on the analysis of IMF rescue package in South Korean financial crisis, this paper discusses the macroeconomic effectiveness of fund-supported stabilization program with both its criticism and its advocates. When evaluating an IMF policy, the process of stabilization program, the specific structural characteristics of recipient countries, and the social costs of stabilization should be taken into account.
