Reseach on the Recovery of Oil in the Iron and Steel Mill Scale

Concerns of steel producers on the management and use of waste streams results in the current production will increase in the future, as a result of implementing the EUpolicies on environmental protection. Cutting oil from waste water treatment and steel is, in terms of capitalization, a real problem due to the presence of hydrocarbons in significant amounts(2-10%).This paper presents experimentation (as a laboratory phase) on the possibility of recovery oily Mill Scale by sintering. Based on the experimental results in laboratory phase, a processing technology is proposed for this waste in order to obtain briquetting.Recovery of oily mill scale has both environmental and economical effects by reducing the amounts deposited.
