WAP, Wireless Application Protocol, is de facto standard for technology in developing applications and services that operate over wireless communication networks. In WAP architecture, the WAP Gateway plays a core role. But in practice, it becomes the potential quality bottleneck of wireless services. A distributed architecture of WAP Gateway is used in our project to solve this problem. In this paper, we propose two session-integrated load-balancing algorithms to balance the services had in this distributed Gateway. In our approach, not only the load, but also the service type and the session integrity are considered, which ft the special requirements of the WAP services well. The HTTP connection numbers and response time are defined as load in the algorithms respectively. Simulation results show the fairness and session-integrity of these algorithms.
