The Education and Training on Agroinformatics in the Philippines: A Non-Government Organization Case Study

Philippines is one of the countries in the world keeping the highest population growth rate and the requirement on food is rapidly increasing. The shortage of food in some areas is getting evident and even the government agricultural infrastructure is facing difficulties to balance the productivity and the environmental requirement. It is very difficult to solve the crisis within the country. Only the total sharing and cooperation for sustainable food productivity on the basis of information sharing and mutual understanding could bring the solution. This paper aims to introduce an agro-system called locally as MASIPAG. Then, a nongovernment organization's approach to farming management and information, education and training of farmers will be reported.
