Economical Eye Tracking Technologies and their Applications SCI 2001 / ISAS 2001

This paper explores several aspects of eye tracking, including numerous existing technologies and applications as well as new and innovative techniques and applications. Three cost effective techniques discussed in this paper include, photo-detectors and IR LED's, electrodes, and a CCD camera. Two possible applications being researched at RPI for these economical eye-tracking systems are presented: creating a new font to assist those with reading disorders, and eliminating the misdiagnosis between attention deficit disorder and convergence insufficiency.
