The analysis of transient states in large physical systems is usually time-consuming and in the consequences expensive. An achievement of the high accuracy of computations calls for the application of high performance computer systems. Standard numerical algorithms applied in the transient analysis are iterative algorithms, i.e. knowledge of the variable value from the previous step is necessary in order to compute this variable value in the successive step. This type algorithms are typical sequential algorithms. The authors have been presented in this paper a speculative method of the analysis of transient states appearing in physical systems described by the large systems of differential equations, linear and nonlinear. An original algorithm oriented on multiprocessor systems was developed based on the method. An essence idea of the method bases on sectioning of the total time of the transient analysis t_N on a particular number of subintervals, which are analysed in parallel. As the example of an application the transient analysis in a physical system described by the system of 10 differential equations has been presented. The computations were carried out with the use of a cluster network of PCs connected via the Fast-Ethernet network and operating under Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system with the MPI communication library. The results obtained are presented in the form of graphs and tables.
