Manufacturing Science and Protein Biosynthesis

摘要

The current interest in self-assembly systems and flexible manufacturing systems points out a need of considering the biological manufacturing systems in order to gain some knowledge to build a new generation of manufacturing systems. In such a way the manufacturing science spreads its interest over biology. The paper presents a framework for studying autonomous flexible manufacturing systems, and under such a framework develops an unified view toward unicellular organisms and autonomous manufacturing systems. A discussion concerning usefulness of this approach is also provided.
