摘要

Simulation of large AC/DC systems often encounters many difficulties, including complex system configuration and HVDC control and protection modeling schemes. In this paper, an AC/DC realtime simulation system, which comprises an RTDS real-time simulator and a set of physical HVDC control and protection equipment is introduced. Applications of the simulation system in studying China Southern power system are outlined. Various simulation tests are conducted to verify the simulation system, and selected test results are provided.
