Biodegradable polymers were employed as tissue engineering materials. Both preshaped porous scaffold and injectable hydrogel have been studied. As the former is concerned, we developed a novel fabrication approach to obtain well-defined internal pore structure and complicated external shape. As the latter is concerned, we synthesized a novel temperature-sensitive hydrogel with tailorable biodegradation rate. Patterned hydrogels and hydrophobic scaffolds have also been used to investigate cell adhesion mechanism on the surface of biomaterial. Surface modification technique has been examined.
